The 员工’s spouse was hospitalized for tests and observation from February 25 to March 2, 1991, following a visit to the emergency room on February 25, 1991 for treatment of acute abdominal pain and nausea. The 雇主 denied benefits for the room and board charges of March 1 and 2, 1991 stating that the last two days of hospitalization were not medically necessary.
